Bengaluru, 01 December (HS): Regular walkers and visitors to Cubbon Park, one of the favourite destinations of all nature lovers have been for a treat since 29 November, thanks to the flower show intended to educate children on science and nature.
Floral sculptures depict hallmarks of progress: The four-day show concludes on Monday, 02 December, and showcases accomplishments in several areas in addition to dwelling on the significance of flora and fauna. Some floral structures have been installed near Jawahar Bal Bhavan in this connection.
The heart becomes a major attraction: The state Horticultural Department is hosting the beautiful floral arrangement show in collaboration with the Women and Child Development Department, while the massive heart sign turns out to be a big attraction as the enthusiastic visitors keep crowding to have a glimpse, snap and take a selfie before it.
Peacocks, World Cup, Rocket...: Apart from the heart carved out of Red roses and button Chrysanthemums, the Peacock couple, World Cup, Rocket and Karnataka map are also among many other decorations which draw enough curiosity to have a detailed look.
Coloured Capsicums' Delight: The multicoloured Capsicums' arrangement is also one of the most attractive objects on display. Although, it gives a different sight from far away, only coming closeby you will realize that it happens to be made out of different colours of Capsicum.
Zerbera, Hibiscus...: Apart from the replicas in flowers, the pots of Zerbera, roses, orchids, Chrysanthemum, Button Chrysanthemum, Hibiscus, Poinsettia and many other varieties of flowers give you a pleasant look.
Rs 40 lakhs expenditure: According to G Kusuma, Deputy Director of Horticulture (Lalbagh), the show was estimated to cost around Rs 40 lakhs to the Department; Rs 26 lakhs earmarked to buying flowers and the remaining amount for erecting the structures and the manpower involved with.
One lakh cut flowers: She also informed, that one lakh cut flowers including Zerbera, roses, orchids, Chrysanthemum, Button Chrysanthemum, and Poinsettia in various shades and colours have been deployed to make the structures and around 20,000 pots used to decorate different locations.
