Guwahati, 29 November (HS): NDA MLAs elected in the five seats of the Assam Assembly by-elections held on 13 November took oath of office in the Assam Legislative Assembly on Friday. Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary administered the oath of office and secrecy to them. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma along with many ministers of his cabinet and MLAs of the state were present in the assembly hall.

After the ceremony, the Chief Minister said through social media that today was a special day. Those MLAs of our National Democratic Alliance, who have been elected after getting the blessings of the people in the recent by-elections, have taken oath on the floor of the Assam Legislative Assembly. The Chief Minister said that he is happy to be present at this program.

It is known that with this swearing-in, the number of members of the National Democratic Alliance in the Assam Legislative Assembly has increased to 82. The Chief Minister has congratulated the newly elected members.
