Dhubri, (Assam), 29 November (HS): The Food and Civil Supplies Superintendent has been suspended on corruption charges. According to information given on Friday, the Food and Civil Supplies Superintendent Ashok Kumar Sharma in Dhubri district was suspended by the Directorate of Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs after allegations of illegally allocating ration cards.
It is alleged that Sharma has issued unauthorized ration cards. Allegations were made at various levels that Sharma, along with others, issued a large number of fake ration cards. Superintendent Sharma was suspended on the basis of the allegations. Investigation into the matter has been started.
