Guwahati, 14 November (HS): Union Communications and Development of Northeast (DoNER) Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia on Thursday attended meetings and other programs with Chief Ministers in Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on the second day of his three-day Northeast tour. Later through social media, Scindia told that a fruitful meeting was held with Chief Minister Lalduhoma with officials of the Nagaland government and officials of the Ministry of Development of Northeast Region, Government of India.
He said that this state, famous for its natural beauty, tribal culture and handicrafts, has immense potential to explore new areas of commerce and trade.
He expressed confidence that through meaningful cooperation, together we can take Mizoram to new heights of success and prosperity.
He said that he is proud to meet Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma in Aizawl today. He has expressed hope to cooperate further to ensure inclusive and sustainable development for Mizoram.
In another social media post, Scindia said that Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu had a fruitful meeting with officials of the Arunachal Pradesh government and members of his team from the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India.
He said that through in-depth deliberations, we discussed the status of various infrastructure projects. Explored new business and investment areas and prepared a roadmap for development for the future.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as we envision a developed India by 2047, we also envision a developed Arunachal - full of new opportunities, development and possibilities.
It is known that today is the second day of the three-day Northeast tour of DoNER Minister Scindia. Scindia reached Itanagar late on Wednesday evening. On reaching Itanagar, Scindia held meetings with the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and other senior officials of the state. During this visit, Scindia will visit Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram as well as Nagaland and Tripura. He will hold review meetings with the Chief Ministers of these states. Scindia also attended the Tribal Pride Day event in Agartala. He will also hold a review meeting with Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha.
During his visit, Scindia will visit Meghalaya, where he will attend the Cherry Blossom Festival-2024 in Ri-Bhoi district.
