New Delhi, November 13 (HS): President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday inaugurated Swami Vivekananda Vidya Mandir, Jhanda Chowk in Silvassa and addressed a public function.

On this occasion, the President said that she was extremely happy to inaugurate Swami Vivekananda Vidya Mandir. She said that the UT administration has made many efforts to promote higher education. Government Engineering College was started in 2018 and NIFT was established in 2022 to provide quality technical education to the students. Murmu expressed confidence that these efforts will provide a great opportunity for the youth of the UT.

The President said that the region is very rich in historical, cultural and natural heritage. That is why this Union Territory is a good tourist destination. He appreciated the steps taken by the government to promote tourism. She said that expansion in tourism creates new employment opportunities. Meeting people from different regions makes us more open and sensitive.

The President said that the warmth with which she was welcomed by the people of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu will always be etched in her memories. She thanked the people of this Union Territory for the warm welcome.
