New Delhi, November 13 (HS): External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar on Wednesday co-chaired the meeting of the Political, Security, Social and Cultural Committee of the second India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The External Affairs Minister said that our partnership is based on progress and focused on the future.
In his opening address, the External Affairs Minister said that Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and Developed India 2047 are complementary to create new partnerships for our industries. He thanked Saudi Arabia for ensuring the welfare and convenience of the 26 lakh population of the Indian community. He said that our security cooperation has also increased steadily. We are cooperating in combating terrorism, extremism, terrorism financing and drug trafficking.
The External Affairs Minister said on X that the meeting discussed our multifaceted bilateral relations, including defence partnership, security cooperation, trade and investment, culture, tourism and youth exchanges and people-to-people contacts. During this, the two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues, especially the ongoing conflicts in West Asia and joint efforts in various multilateral forums.-----------
