Mumbai,

05 Oct (HS):- Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of Metro-3

and thanked Japan for the technical support for the project. The metro services

will be opened to the public on Sunday. The services will help people avoid

the traffic hazards and save time in travelling.

Modi

said getting the status of a Classical Language for Marathi is a tribute to many

generations who dedicated their lives for improving knowledge, philosophy and

literature. He expressed happiness over getting an opportunity to start

developmental works during the Navratri festival. He also referred to releasing

Kisan Sanman Nidhi for 9.5 crore farmers at Washim earlier on the day.

Referring

to the inauguration of the airport at Navi Mumbai, Eastern Freeway, Thane Municipal

Corporation’s new building Modi said that the BJP-led NDA Government in Maharashtra

has started developmental projects worth Rs 30,000 crores in Mumbai.

Criticizing

Congress for neglecting Thane he said that NDA Government is developing a 300

Km network of Metro Rail to facilitate travelling by the growing population. The

Atal Setu reduced travelling time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Many other

projects are in the pipeline.

Putting

hurdles in the developmental works is the habit of Maha-Vikas Aghadi. Mumbai

Metro is an example of its negative approach. The obstructions delayed the work

by two-and-a-half years and increased the cost by Rs 14,000 crores. MVA also

opposed the Atal Setu project, Bullet Train and irrigation projects.

Modi

appealed to the people to stop Congress from destructive activities. He

referred to the recent exposure of a land scam involving a Congress chief minister,

and ill-treatment to women.
