Oct 27 (HS): Punjab Police have busted cross-border drug smuggling syndicate and
arrested two drug smugglers while recovering a huge quantity of narcotics
including 105 kilos of heroin from their possession.

General Gaurav Yadav gave this information on his social media account X on
Sunday morning. Giving information, the counter intelligence team of Punjab
Police has arrested two drug smugglers from Baba Bakala town of Amritsar.
Police have recovered about 105 kg heroin, 31.93 kg caffeine, 17 kg DMR, 5
foreign pistols and 1 country made pistol from them. The arrested accused have
been identified as Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar.

Navpreet Singh alias Bhullar, was running this network from abroad. DGP said
that all the said consignments had come from across the border from Pakistan.
The value of the recovered drugs in the international market is more than Rs
500 crore.

Punjab Gaurav Yadav said that the said FIR has been registered in Amritsar
State Special Operation Unit. Recently, a consignment was caught by the police,
input about this recovery was received during the interrogation of the said
accused.
The police had been trapping and recceing in the said area for quite
some time. This consignment of drugs has been transported to Punjab through
waterways. Large rubber tubes of tires have also been recovered with this
consignment, indicating that narcotics are smuggled through waterways.
