Oct 22 (HS): The weekly national workshop on research methodology and data

analysis through SPSS and Sigma Plot was inaugurated in the university auditorium

by the Department of Food Nutrition and Public Health of Ethelind College of

Community Science, SHUATS. The chief guest was City North MLA Er. Harshvardhan

Bajpai. Workshop Convener and Director Development Prof. Ritu Prakash Dubey

welcomed all the guests and introduced the chief guest Er. Harshvardhan Bajpai

and Municipal Corporation councilor Mrs. Anupama Pandey.

Harshvardhan Bajpai, while sharing his experience, called SPSS and Sigma Plot

very important modules. He said that we can bring about historical change by

predicting the situation through the SPSS module. He said that Prime Minister

Shri Narendra Modi expressed concern over the dollars being spent on the import

of crude oil and put forth a mission to promote ethanol production, due to

which blending reached 17.5 percent. Sugarcane farmers are getting good profits

due to the Prime Minister's mission. He appealed to the researchers to do an

in-depth study of SPSS and Sigma Plot and benefit the country and society

through quality research. Regarding the upcoming Kumbh, MLA Harshvardhan

appealed to all Prayagraj residents to serve the devotees on the lines of

'Atithi Devo Bhava'.

Guest

of honour Pro Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Bishwarup Mehera described

SPSS as an extremely important model for research. He said that through this,

crop production can be predicted. The government also decides on the

import-export of onion, tomato, potato etc. on the basis of this research

method.

Additional

Registrar Prof. C. John Wesley briefly described the achievements of the

university in 114 years. Earlier opening Prayer was offered by Chaplain

Lalchung Gangte. Organizing Secretary Dr. Neha Mishra highlighted the

importance of the workshop. Shivanjali Shukla gave vote of thanks. In the technical

session Prof. Shruti of UPRTOU gave a presentation on the use SPSS and Sigma

Plot.

The

program concluded with the national anthem. Dean Prof. Dr. Anshu, Dr. Ashish S.

Noel, Dr. Praveen Charan, Dr. Arun Kumar Chaurasia, Dr. Raghav Yadav, Dr.

Anjani Saxena, all the faculty members of Ethilind College of Community

Science, university officials and research students were present in the

workshop.
