Amaravati, October 22 (HS): The Andhra Pradesh government is organizing a two-day drone summit in the capital Amaravati. More than 5, 000 drones will be displayed in the Amaravati Drone Summit.

The two-day national summit organized by the Andhra Pradesh Drone Corporation will be held on October 22 and 23.

The drone exhibition organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Drone Federation of India at the Punnami Ghat of the Krishna River. The meet aims to create a platform for industry experts, researchers, students and innovators.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Naidu and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will attend the event.

Principal Secretary of Infrastructure and Investment S Suresh Kumar said that the Andhra Pradesh government wants to harness the potential of drones for various applications including surveillance, agriculture and cargo transport. The coalition government hopes that this initiative will create employment opportunities.

He said the state government is targeting an investment of Rs 2,000 crore in the drone sector and aims to create 30,000 jobs. A new drone policy is also expected to be announced.

Kumar said, Various sessions will be organised on drone manufacturing, disaster monitoring, logistics, law enforcement, agriculture, healthcare and other applications in which speakers from different states will share their views.
