East Coast Railway Launches Three-Month Vigilance Awareness Campaign

Bhubaneswar, 17 October (H.S.) The East Coast Railway (ECR) has initiated a three-month-long vigilance awareness campaign, which began on August 24, 2024. This campaign, themed “Enrichment of the Nation for the Integrity of Culture,” is implemented following directives from the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to foster a culture of integrity among railway employees and the public.

The ECR has organized essay writing, art, painting, and slogan writing competitions for school and college students, as well as children of railway employees. These initiatives aim to instill values of integrity among the youth, with events taking place in prominent locations such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri.

To enhance awareness about vigilance and cleanliness, the vigilance department of ECR is conducting seminars and workshops for railway officers and employees. These educational initiatives are designed to strengthen ethical practices and promote vigilance in the workplace.

The campaign utilizes social media platforms and bulk SMS to communicate its objectives to the public. Road plays (nukkad dramas) showcasing the importance of cleanliness and integrity are being performed at major railway stations including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Koraput, and Visakhapatnam, effectively spreading the message at the grassroots level.

A debate competition for students is set to take place in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on October 23, 2024, focusing on the significance of integrity in national development. Additional activities include integrity pledges, meetings between vendors and partners, and awareness campaigns through banners and posters displayed at railway stations and offices.

Caution Awareness Week from October 28 to November 3, 2024. Activities planned for this week include a walkathon and various initiatives aimed at engaging railway employees and the general public in promoting cleanliness and integrity.
