
Mumbai, 16 Oct (HS):- Nationalist Congress Party leader
Rupali Chakankar has been re-appointed the Chief of Maharashtra Women’s
Commission. The notification was publicized even before end of her term on
October 22.
Chakankar was in the news and was expecting her
nomination to the Legislative Council. However, she was retained as Chief of the
Women’s Commission. Born in a family of farmers she rose to this position from
first becoming a corporator. Her term as Chief of the Women’s Commission will
be of three years.
