Mumbai, 15 Oct (HS): The Maharashtra Government
disbursed ₹123.63 crore under the “Mukhyamantri Vayoshri Yojana” for senior
citizens above the age of 65 years. The senior citizens are given ₹3,000 each
for buying medical aides, psychological treatment centers or Yoga Centres etc.
The money was transferred to 4,12,113 eligible
seniors up to October 14, informs the Department of Social Justice and Special
Assistance.
The scheme was introduced by Chief Minister Eknath
Shinde on October 9, 2024. A total of 17,83,175 applications have been received
and are being scrutinized and processed.
