Guwahati, 15 October (HS): The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police arrested a drug peddler with heroin in an operation conducted in Guwahati on Tuesday.

The heroin has been seized during a raid near Maharshi Kids Home on Shivcharan Boro Road in Saukusi under Bashishtha police station area.

Bappy Malik (29), a resident of Fakiragram Rabhapara in Kokrajhar district, has been arrested in the operation. During the operation, the officers recovered a mobile phone along with ten small containers filled with suspected heroin, totalling 13.3 grams of heroin.

The police have started the legal process by registering an FIR against the arrested smuggler at the police station.
