Mumbai,
13 Oct (HS): Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, claimed on
Sunday that police had identified some leads in the assassination of NCP
politician and former state minister Baba Siddique.
Different aspects of the
crime were being investigated, but police will speak about it later, Fadnavis,
who is in charge of the state home department, told reporters in Gondia
district.
Siddique (66), who joined Ajit Pawar's NCP in February after leaving the
Congress, was killed by three men in Kher Nagar in Mumbai's Bandra region on
Saturday night, close outside his son's office. He was brought to Lilavati Hospital
and proclaimed dead.“Everyone of us has
been horrified by this awful and tragic event. Baba Siddique was extremely close
to me; we'd worked together,” he added.
