PM releases postage stamp & 75 coin to mark inauguration of new Parl building


New Delhi, 28 May (HS): To commemorate the inauguration of the new Parliament building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a special commemorative postage stamp and a ₹75 coin on Sunday. He unveiled the coin and stamp during the inaugural ceremony for the new Parliament building's Lok Sabha chamber. According to a gazette announcement issued by the union Ministry of Finance's Department of Economic Affairs, the coin's weight will be 34.65-35.35 grams. According to the announcement, one side of the coin would have the picture of the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar in the middle, flanked by the words Bharat in Devanagari script and INDIA in English. Below the Lion Capital, the rupee symbol ₹ and denominational value 75 will be written in international numbers. The picture of the Parliament Complex will appear on the reverse side of the coin, with the year 2023 in international numbers underneath the image.
