New Delhi, 20 March (HS): Tata Group-led private sector carrier Air India will temporarily reduce its flights on several US routes due to a shortage of operational personnel.

Air India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Campbell Wilson said at the Kappa India conference here on Monday that due to a shortage of operational personnel, Air India will have to reduce its aircraft's frequency on several US routes temporarily. Wilson said six weekly flights to the US, including three to Newark and three to San Francisco, would be reduced for two to three months.

He said some long-haul flights have been affected in recent months due to crew crunch. 100 pilots are being trained to fly the Boeing 777 aircraft. Apart from this, training of about 1,400 crew personnel is also going on.
