No VIP darshan at Baba Vishwanath on Shivratri


Varanasi, 15 February (HS): The temple management has taken a decision that there will be no discrimination between high-profile and common devotees during worship and darshan of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham on Maha Shivratri on February 18.

There will be no VIP darshan and worship. All devotees will have to queue up for darshan and all VIP passes will remain cancelled, according to the the temple management.

It is also said that the doors of the temple will open from 4 in the morning. The doors of the temple will be closed at 11 pm after Shayan Aarti. It has been also decided to give tickets for Mangala Aarti for ₹2,000 on Maha Shivaratri. Its ticket is available for ₹350 on normal days.

The temple management will focus on crowd management because a large number of devotees will come on this great occasion. Arrangements are being made for this in coordination with the administration. A red carpet will be laid on the temple premises for the devotees.

Chief Executive Officer of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Sunil Verma said that after Mangala Aarti on Maha Shivaratri Parbhor, the doors of the temple will be opened for devotees from 4 pm. The facility of Rudrabhishek and Sugam Darshan etc. will not be available. All types of passes will also remain cancelled. There will be no VIP darshan. Ticket rates have been increased for Mangala Aarti. Its information will be made public.
