Raipur, 10 Dec (HS): Vishnu Deo Sai was elected as the state's next chief minister at a party legislature meeting in Raipur. Vishnu Deo Sai was the party's State President for Chhattisgarh from 2020 to 2022.

After former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, he will be Chhattisgarh's first tribal Chief Minister.

In the first Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet, he was also the union Minister of State for Mines and Steel. In the Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023, Sai, MLA from Kunkuri, beat sitting Congress MLA UD Minj.
