
Kathmandu, September 8 (HS): Police have arrested 10 Bangladeshi nationals in Kathmandu’s Thamel area for allegedly staying in Nepal without legal authorisation and engaging in suspicious activities.
According to police, action was taken at various locations, including Hotel Dhaka Express, Hotel D Bheda and Hotel Al Rahman, following information that foreign nationals were residing in the area without the required legal permission.
Those arrested have been identified as 46-year-old Fahima Akhter Hasan, 48-year-old Mahmud, 45-year-old Mahabub Hasan, 49-year-old Repon Mahmud, 30-year-old Md Keramat Ali Khan, 30-year-old Sahidur Rahman, 50-year-old Md Khalilur Rahman, 28-year-old Arifur Rahman, 42-year-old Md Maruf Mridha and 64-year-old Mohammad Hanif Mia. All of them were residing in Thamel, within Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
Police conducted the operation based on information regarding the alleged illegal stay of foreign nationals and subsequently arrested the 10 individuals. According to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, all 10 arrested persons have been handed over to the Department of Immigration at Kalikasthan for further investigation and necessary legal action.
