Kathmandu, September 05 (H.S.): Amid the ongoing rescue operations in Nepal, efforts to evacuate people trapped inside the Chilime tunnel have been intensified. The Indian tunnel rescue team, working in coordination with the Nepalese Army, has carried out excavation work deeper inside the tunnel. At the same time, efforts to pump out the water accumulated inside the tunnel are continuing.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava shared an update on the operation through social media. He said that the Indian tunnel rescue team was conducting the rescue operation at the Chilime tunnel in coordination with the Nepalese Army. The team is engaged in removing water from inside the tunnel while also extending the rescue passage deeper into the tunnel.

Preparations are also underway to transport heavy machinery and essential equipment to the tunnel site to accelerate the rescue operation. For this purpose, a temporary track is being constructed. Once the track is completed, it will become easier to transport large and heavy equipment closer to the tunnel, helping the rescue operation to be expanded on a wider scale.

Doctors who arrived with the Indian rescue team are also playing an important role in the relief efforts. The medical team has set up a health camp for affected local residents and is providing them with necessary medical assistance.

Thus, the ongoing operation in Chilime is not limited to rescuing people trapped inside the tunnel. The doctors accompanying the rescue team are providing healthcare services to the affected community while also extending essential humanitarian assistance in the area.

Indian and Nepalese teams are jointly working to advance the rescue operation. Efforts to pump out water from inside the tunnel and extend the rescue passage further into the tunnel are continuing.
