Kathmandu, 04 September (H.S.): Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava visited the Indian technical team deployed at the Chilime Hydropower Project near Syafrubesi. He said the Indian team is working alongside the Nepal Army in the search and rescue operation for people trapped inside the Chilime powerhouse tunnel.

According to Ambassador Srivastava, with the help of specialised equipment, the Indian technical team has reached approximately 100 metres inside the tunnel and has already inspected the area. Preparations are now underway to move heavy equipment further inside the tunnel to advance the rescue operation. He said the ground inside the tunnel is swamp-like and the conditions are extremely challenging. Despite the difficult and hazardous terrain, the Indian and Nepali teams are continuing to make progress and are carrying out the rescue operation without interruption.

The Ambassador visited the site and closely reviewed the efforts being made by teams from both countries under difficult circumstances. Despite the challenging conditions, the Indian and Nepali teams remain resolute and are continuing relief and rescue operations with determination.
