The operations use tomorrow settlements, meaning settlements on the next trading day.

The Russian Finance Ministry announced purchases of foreign currency and gold under the budget rule from August 7 to September 4 totaling 136.17 billion rubles (6.5 billion rubles per day). The Central Bank, for its part, said that it would add foreign currency sales averaging 0.58 billion rubles per day to operations for the finance ministry in the second half of 2026.

Under the so-called budget rule, the finance ministry directs additional federal budget revenues from oil and gas to the National Wealth Fund (NWF). After the government excluded currencies of unfriendly countries from the fund's reserves, the finance ministry has been only purchasing yuan and gold to replenish it.
