MOSCOW, September 29 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Nearly 37,000 IT companies opened in Russia in the first half of 2026, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Tuesday.

All these measures are yielding good results. In the first half of this year, nearly 37,000 new IT companies were established, Mishustin said in a video address at the 2nd Moscow Startup Summit.

The two-day conference of tech entrepreneurs kicked off in Moscow on Tuesday. Mishustin said that the event's goal was to identify practical applications for technologies and implement products that would strengthen national economies.

The prime minister said that the world was going through a new technological revolution. Artificial intelligence is reshaping the lives of Russians and may soon become as indispensable as electricity or the internet, Mishustin added.
