Kathmandu, 26 September (H.S.): Nepal and Rwanda have signed a General Cooperation Agreement. The agreement was signed by Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal and Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, at a sideline event held in New York during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The agreement is expected to provide a framework for further strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and Rwanda and expanding cooperation across various areas of mutual interest. Nepal and Rwanda formally established diplomatic relations in 2018 and have continued to cooperate through various multilateral forums, including the United Nations.

The signing of the agreement is also expected to further institutionalize relations between Nepal and Rwanda while creating opportunities to identify and expand new areas of mutual cooperation.
