Kathmandu, 24 September (H.S.): A Sita Air aircraft flying from Nepalgunj to Dolpa narrowly avoided a major accident after its rear wheel came off while landing at Juphal Airport in Dolpa on Thursday morning.

According to the District Police Office, Dolpa, the aircraft’s rear wheel came off while it was landing at Juphal Airport at around 8:25 a.m. District Police Office Dolpa chief, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Raj Giri, said the Sita Air aircraft, bearing registration number 9N-AJH, was in the process of landing when the wheel came off.

Despite the malfunction, the aircraft avoided a major accident and landed safely. The incident did not result in any reported casualties or injuries.

The authorities are assessing the circumstances surrounding the incident, while further details regarding the technical malfunction are awaited.
