
Kathmandu, 20 September (H.S.): Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal will leave for New York on Sunday evening to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. He will be accompanied by a Nepali delegation on his visit to the United States. His press adviser, Jagadishwar Pandey, said Khanal and the delegation are scheduled to depart for New York at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
According to Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Khanal will participate in various high-level meetings and ministerial programmes during the high-level segment of the United Nations General Assembly. He will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and senior officials from various countries.
Meanwhile, Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah will leave for the United States on September 22, leading a 14-member Nepali delegation. Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly on September 24.
Heads of state, heads of government and senior government representatives from various countries are participating in the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Major international issues and global challenges will be discussed during the session.
