Tehran/Washington, 20 September (H.S.): Iran has conveyed seven conditions to the United States through Qatar for the resumption of negotiations. Tehran has warned that if Washington does not accept its demands, Iran is prepared for a decisive war. Mohsen Rezaee, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Qatar had conveyed Iran’s conditions to Washington and that Tehran was awaiting a response from US President Donald Trump.

According to reports by Al Jazeera, Xinhua, Gulf News and Arab News, Rezaee said, “We remain in contact with the mediator Qatar. Qatar has conveyed our conditions to Washington with the aim of ending the war. We are waiting for President Trump’s response.” According to Rezaee, the conditions include ending the war on all fronts, releasing Iran’s frozen funds and lifting the naval blockade.

Rezaee wrote on X that if Washington wants to extricate itself from the predicament it has created, it has no option but to accept Iran’s rights and conditions. He warned of the possibility of another US attack and said Iran had altered its military strategy following the previous two rounds of fighting. According to him, the strategy is now focused on US naval assets stretching from the Gulf through the Gulf of Oman to the Arabian Sea.

He claimed that Iran had recently tested a multi-warhead anti-ship missile near a US vessel or aircraft carrier. He warned that any future response could be broader, potentially targeting US bases in the region, American commercial interests and local companies.

Qatar and Pakistan have been attempting to revive negotiations since the memorandum of understanding between the two sides expired last month. The conflict began after US and Israeli strikes against Iran in late February. Rezaee said Tehran was pursuing a strategy aimed at bringing the conflict to an end as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, in an interview on Saturday, Mohsen Rezaee said Iran continues to abide by the religious decree issued by its late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei prohibiting the development of nuclear weapons. Rezaee said, “We do not know what will happen in the future.”

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. He is also expected to meet Gulf Cooperation Council leaders in New York. According to US officials, Iran will be a major subject of discussion. However, it has not been made clear whether Trump or any other US representative will meet directly with Iranian officials.
