MOSCOW, September 19 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has directed government officials to prepare and agree a roadmap for integrating artificial intelligence into public transport management by December 1.

The Government of Russia, taking into account previously issued instructions, shall develop jointly with the State Council Commission on Data Economy and with the participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and approve a plan of measures (a roadmap) for the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies in the management of passenger transportation for all types of public transport, including the use of such technologies for forecasting transport demand, optimizing public transport schedules and route networks, analyzing the technical condition of rolling stock, and creating intelligent chatbots and voice assistants for passengers, the document read.

The corresponding list of presidential instructions was published by the Kremlin this week following a meeting of the State Council presidium. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyev are responsible for laying out the roadmap.
