
Colombo, 11 September (H.S.):
Two children were killed in a hand grenade attack on a house located on Sirisangabo Road in Kawdana, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia, in Sri Lanka’s Western Province, this morning. Police said one of the children was 10 years old and the other was 14.
According to The Mirror newspaper, police said the 10-year-old boy died shortly after being admitted to Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, while his 14-year-old brother died while undergoing treatment. Their 52-year-old father and two other children were also seriously injured in the explosion. They were admitted to hospital for treatment.
Police said the father is undergoing treatment. The motive behind the grenade attack has not yet been established. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
