Kathmandu, 10 September (H.S.): Nepal Airlines has decided to provide special relief on the air transportation of relief supplies being sent to citizens affected by the recent floods and natural disasters in the country.

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, the national carrier has announced a complete waiver of cargo charges for one month on relief materials being transported from international stations to flood-affected communities in Nepal.

According to the airline, the full waiver will apply to the transportation of food supplies, medicines, clothing and other essential relief materials being sent to flood victims. The concession will be provided in coordination with the concerned embassies and on the basis of an official letter issued by the respective embassy.

Nepal Airlines said the decision has been taken to make humanitarian assistance more accessible and effective during the disaster situation. The waiver is expected to help relief materials sent to Nepal by various countries and organisations reach affected communities more quickly.

The airline said the initiative would facilitate the timely transportation and distribution of essential supplies to people facing hardship as a result of the recent floods and other natural disasters.
