Washington, 06 August (H.S.): President Donald Trump has dismissed claims that the United States is facing a shortage of military weapons following its conflict with Iran. He asserted that the country possesses an extensive and well-stocked arsenal and warned that individuals responsible for leaking information about US military stockpiles would face prosecution and could receive lengthy prison sentences.
Trump's remarks came after a CNN report cited sources claiming that US military commanders had expressed concerns over critically low stockpiles of certain weapons, particularly air defence interceptors, following the conflict with Iran.
Responding to the report on his Truth Social platform, President Trump said, The United States has enormous quantities of specialized weapons and ammunition. We are manufacturing them in large numbers as needed. Defence companies are building more plants and factories than at any other time in American history. We are searching for the traitorous individuals spreading these false rumours. We will make every effort to prosecute them and ensure they receive long prison sentences.
The President reiterated that the United States remains fully equipped to meet its defence requirements and rejected suggestions that the country's military readiness had been weakened by recent operations.
