Kyrgyzstan Interested in Expanding Cooperation With Russia - Prime Minister

CHOLPON-ATA, August 6 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding its partnership with Russia, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev said on Thursday.

The Kyrgyz side expresses a high level of openness to expanding cooperation with Russian partners and is interested in implementing new joint projects, the prime minister said during the Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum, which is currently taking place in Cholpon-Ata on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul.

Kasymaliev said that the economic forum between the two countries rightfully has a special place in the system of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation.

This is not just a platform for exchanging opinions – it is a space where concrete decisions are made, joint projects are launched, and direct ties between businesses and regions of our countries are strengthened, he added.

The Kyrgyz government is consistently working to modernize the economy, improve the investment climate, and develop industry, energy, transport, and tourism infrastructure, and is ready to cooperate with Russian partners in all these areas, the prime minister said.
