MOSCOW, August 31 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The refusal of the EU and NATO from Russian energy resources led to stagnation and record inflation, directly hitting the purchasing power of the population of the member states, Russian Ambassador in Belgium Denis Gonchar told RIA Novosti.

The abandonment of Russian energy resources and the purchase of expensive alternatives, the price of which increased by 33% from 2022 to 2025, led to stagnation and even recession in most EU-NATO states, as well as record inflation, which, according to Eurostat estimates, reached 22% during this period, Gonchar said.
