Islamabad, 28 August (H.S.):

Four suspected terrorists were killed on Thursday in an intelligence-based operation conducted by Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Peshawar. Personnel from the Peshawar region of the CTD killed all four suspects in an exchange of fire at Mehr Gul Qala graveyard in Mirakchori.

According to a report by Dunya News, security personnel recovered three Kalashnikov rifles, a pistol, a hand grenade, seven magazines and several rounds of ammunition from the scene.

A police official said one of the slain suspects was identified as Syed Wali, son of Abdul Ghani and a resident of Nangarhar province in Afghanistan. An Afghan refugee card was also recovered from his possession.

Syed Wali is suspected to have been among three suicide attackers who had entered Pakistan from Afghanistan. According to police, a search operation is underway in the area to apprehend other suspected terrorists who fled the scene while firing during the encounter.
