Kathmandu, 27 August (H.S.):As the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River continue to wreak havoc, a total of 1,433 Nepali and foreign nationals across Nepal, excluding Rasuwa and Nuwakot, remain uncontactable.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, the figures were compiled from across the country up to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The authority said that, excluding Rasuwa and Nuwakot, a total of 916 Nepali nationals and 517 foreign nationals across Nepal’s seven provinces remain uncontactable. Separate data for Rasuwa and Nuwakot is being compiled by the authority.

According to the latest figures, 80 people are uncontactable in Koshi Province. They include employees working with hydropower companies, as well as businesspeople and traders. These individuals are from 11 districts of Koshi Province.

Similarly, 37 people are uncontactable in Madhesh Province, while 420 people in Bagmati Province, excluding Rasuwa and Nuwakot, and 84 people in Gandaki Province are reported to be out of contact.

Meanwhile, 105 people are uncontactable in Lumbini Province, 118 in Karnali Province and 72 in Sudurpaschim Province.
