Kathmandu, 27 August (H.S.): The death toll from the devastating floods in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa has risen to 270, according to Nepal Police.

According to Nepal Police, the highest number of bodies has been recovered from Chitwan, where 108 people have been confirmed dead. Similarly, 62 bodies have been recovered in Eastern Nawalparasi, 15 in Western Nawalparasi and 27 in Dhading.

Police said 20 bodies have been recovered from Gorkha, 12 from Nuwakot, nine from Tanahun and 17 from Rasuwa.

Meanwhile, 52 people are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals. Of them, 26 are being treated at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, 20 at the Trauma Centre, two at Bir Hospital, two at Norvic Hospital, one at Manmohan Hospital and one at Birendra Military Hospital.
