Kathmandu, 27 August (H.S.): A large-scale search and rescue operation is underway in Nepal following the devastating floods that struck the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on Wednesday. The Nepal Army rescued 123 people by helicopter on Thursday morning, including 21 Indian tourists.

According to the Nepal Army, 95 people were evacuated from the Timure area, while seven people trapped inside a tunnel at a hydropower project in Haku were rescued. The army also safely evacuated 21 missing Indian tourists.

The army said search operations are continuing for people trapped in other tunnels in the affected area. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out on a priority basis across the flood-hit areas.
