MOSCOW, August 22 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Swedish citizens contact the Russian Embassy almost weekly about moving to Russia on a visa for those who share traditional values, Russian Ambassador to Stockholm Sergey Belyayev told RIA Novosti.

In August 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree to issue special visas to foreigners who share traditional values. This visa makes it possible to obtain temporary residence in Russia through a simplified procedure.

During this time, the embassy's consular section has been receiving inquiries almost weekly from Swedish citizens interested in moving to Russia using the visa and subsequent residence permit reception mechanisms stipulated in this document, Belyayev said.
