Kathmandu, 22 August (H.S.): Nepal’s Meteorological Forecasting Division has reported that the monsoon has become active again across the country and issued a warning of heavy rainfall in several areas.

According to a bulletin issued by the Meteorological Forecasting Division on Saturday morning, generally cloudy conditions are expected across the country during the afternoon. Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely at some places in the hilly regions. Moderate rainfall is also expected at some places in the Terai areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in some parts of Madhesh Province.

Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in the hilly regions of the country and in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Similarly, generally cloudy conditions are expected across the country tonight. Moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, along with snowfall, is likely at some places in the Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as in parts of the Himalayan areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Heavy rainfall is also possible at some places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as in parts of the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Kathmandu has been receiving intermittent rainfall since last night. According to meteorologist Binu Maharjan of the Meteorological Forecasting Division, rain has continued intermittently in Kathmandu since the night. She said the rainfall has temporarily stopped, but another spell of rain is likely to occur after noon.
