New Delhi, 16 August (H.S.): The Election Commission has revised the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Delhi, extending the house-to-house verification process by Booth Level Officers until August 17.
Under the revised schedule, the draft electoral roll will be published on August 24. Citizens will then have an opportunity to submit claims and objections between August 24 and September 23.
The Election Commission has also revised the timeline for publication of the final electoral roll. The final list will now be released on October 27.
The poll panel has urged eligible voters to participate in the revision process and verify their details in the electoral rolls. Voters can also complete and submit their enumeration forms online through the Election Commission’s voter services portal.
The revision exercise is aimed at ensuring that the electoral rolls remain accurate and up to date ahead of future elections in the national capital.
