Hojai (Assam), 16 August (HS): Amid the ongoing controversy over alleged “love jihad” cases across Assam, a fresh incident has triggered tension in Lumding.

According to allegations, a youth identified as Bilal Hussain from Nagaon had allegedly been in a long-term relationship with a Hindu young woman while concealing his identity and introducing himself as a Hindu.

The situation reportedly escalated when the youth was allegedly taking the woman away. Some local residents of Nagarpra area in Lumding intercepted and detained him. After that handed over Himanta to the Police.

The incident has created tension in the area, while further details regarding the matter and police action are awaited.-----------
