Guwahati, 16 August (HS): Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia said the notification for the Nagaon by-election is likely to be issued towards the end of this month. Saikia was talking to media persons on Sunday after attending a program.

Saikia said the BJP will field a suitable, popular candidate with strong chances of winning the election. He acknowledged that the by-election would be challenging for the party, but asserted that the BJP would contest with the aim of securing victory.

He also said that the demographic composition of the Nagaon constituency has changed to some extent following the delimitation exercise.

Saikia expressed confidence that the people of the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency would continue to support and cooperate with the BJP in the interest of development.-----------
