Lucknow, 16 Aug (HS): A delegation of 250 entrepreneurs from
Japan's Yamanashi Prefecture will visit Uttar Pradesh on August 20-21. The
Prime Minister is expected to meet the delegation on August 19. The
entrepreneurs will arrive in Lucknow on August 20 after visiting Agra.
This visit, following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's
recent trip to Japan, is considered crucial in attracting Japanese investment
to the state. A major event with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled in
Lucknow. Presentations will be made on the state's industrial climate,
investment policies, land availability, expressway network, logistics
infrastructure, and investment opportunities in various sectors.
Meeting with Invest UP officials: Yamanashi Governor Kotaro
Nagasaki proposed a visit to Uttar Pradesh in August with Japanese
entrepreneurs. Discussions in February revealed the proposed visit of
approximately 200 Japanese CEOs. In July, a 12-member delegation from Yamanashi
met with Invest UP officials in Lucknow to finalize preparations for the visit
and business program. At that time, it was announced that more than 200
Japanese CEOs would attend the five-day event, starting August 19.
The proposed program will place special emphasis on areas
such as manufacturing and green hydrogen for Japanese entrepreneurs. Investment
proposals may be discussed along with memorandums of understanding, letters of
intent, and land allocation possibilities. Invest UP's Japan desk is also being
given a key role in this investment outreach.
Furthermore, the proposed Japan Industrial Township in the
Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority area could be presented as a
major investment option for Japanese companies.
Industrial and investment event planned in Lucknow: An
agreement has been reached with Yamanashi to establish a Center of Excellence
for Green Hydrogen in Uttar Pradesh. IIT (BHU), Varanasi, and Madan Mohan
Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur, are expected to participate. An
industrial and investment event for Japanese guests is planned for Lucknow on
August 21.
