New Delhi, 13 August (H.S.): Union Minister of State for Defence and BJP MP from Jharkhand Sanjay Seth on Thursday accused the Jharkhand government of treating the state’s youth unfairly and alleged irregularities in the government recruitment process.

Speaking to reporters on the Parliament premises, Seth held the state government responsible for the FIRs registered against young protesters in Jharkhand and alleged discrepancies in the results of a recruitment examination.

Seth claimed that FIRs had been registered against around 600 youths following the protests in Jharkhand. He said the young people had gathered to stage a peaceful demonstration and had neither resorted to violence nor engaged in stone-pelting. Under such circumstances, he argued, registering cases against them was unjustified.

The Union minister also questioned the security arrangements around the Chief Minister’s residence. He said extensive barricading and razor wire had been installed across the city ahead of the protests and alleged that roads around the Chief Minister’s residence had subsequently also been blocked with razor wire, affecting the movement of people.

Seth also levelled serious allegations regarding the results of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) examination. He claimed that Pramod Kumar Pathak, who reportedly secured second place in the examination, had alleged links with a ‘solver gang’ operating in Uttar Pradesh and had previously been jailed.

Seth further alleged that despite these circumstances, Pathak continued to hold an official position in the Jharkhand government. The BJP leader called for an impartial investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the allegations.

Seth said young people in Jharkhand were seeking transparency in the recruitment process and asserted that they would not accept anything less than a CBI investigation into the matter.
