New Delhi, 13 August (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) IT cell chief Amit Malviya on Thursday accused the Congress of having a history of using derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that the party had also paid a political price for such remarks.

Targeting Congress leaders for what he described as an “arrogant” and “entitled mindset”, Malviya said the country would not accept politicians who use insulting language against Narendra Modi, who rose from a humble background to become the Prime Minister.

Concluding his remarks, Malviya said, “Abuse and insult are not part of India’s values.” Through the statement, he emphasised the need for restraint and dignity in political discourse.

In a post on social media platform X, Malviya criticised the Congress over its protests and alleged that the use of words such as “monkey” for the Prime Minister reflected the party’s political language and mindset. He questioned whether such remarks should come as a surprise.

Malviya said this was neither the first nor would it be the last occasion on which such language had allegedly been used against the Prime Minister by the Congress. He also referred to the Congress’s earlier “chaiwala” jibe directed at Modi.

He claimed that the Congress had mocked Modi over his humble background and had suffered politically as a result, remaining out of power at the Centre for three consecutive terms. Malviya further alleged that the latest “monkey” remark, following what he described as more than 100 derogatory comments against the Prime Minister, would further reinforce public perceptions about the Congress.
