
New Delhi, 11 August (H.S.): Electrification work is progressing rapidly on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor, with a modern 2×25 kV overhead electrification system being installed along the 508-kilometre high-speed rail corridor to enable trains to operate at speeds of up to 320 kmph.
According to the Ministry of Railways, the advanced electrification system will ensure a continuous and stable power supply for high-speed trains operating on the corridor.
The electrification network is being constructed using approximately 22,000 steel masts and more than 25,700 cantilever assemblies. These components are being deployed to install and support the overhead electrical system with the required strength, precision and reliability.
The project is also providing a significant boost to the government's Make in India initiative. Several critical components of the electrification system are being manufactured domestically, strengthening India's indigenous manufacturing capabilities and supporting the development of a robust domestic supply chain for high-speed rail infrastructure.
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project is designed to establish a modern high-speed rail connection between the two major cities, with advanced railway systems being deployed to support safe and efficient operations at high speeds.
