Lucknow, 05 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish
Mahana on Sunday urged young people to acquire quality education and enter
politics, saying only those who know everything will succeed in politics. While
previously, only those who knew nothing entered politics, circumstances have
changed, and public representatives must satisfy millions of people.
Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana was speaking on
Sunday at the inauguration of the closing session of the Young India Parliament
2026 – Kanpur Chapter, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
Young Indians. Addressing the students and youth who had come to the Young
India Parliament 2026, organized in collaboration with the Confederation of
Indian Industry (CII), the Assembly Speaker gave detailed information about the
Assembly proceedings, Zero Hour, Bills, Starred Questions. He also shared
important information such as the Governor's speech in the Assembly, discussion
on the budget and voting, and also told about the changes made by him.
Discussing current politics, he said that before 2014, the
law and order situation was extremely poor. Daughters-in-law and daughters
would stop visiting as soon as evening fell. There was no law and order in the
state at that time. Recalling a visit to a friend's house in Gujarat before
2017, he said that after dinner at 11 p.m., a friend asked what ice cream we
would eat. He said, We'll eat whatever we have. The friend,
mentioning his daughter's name, said she would go and get it immediately.
We were surprised that their daughter would go at 11 p.m., whereas in
Uttar Pradesh, this is simply impossible at such a late hour, he said.
However, after 2017, the system in Uttar Pradesh has changed so much that even
daughters-in-law and daughters can go anywhere at night. The officers and police
remain the same, but the leadership is Yogi Adityanath. Therefore, all this is
possible. Similarly, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
India's reputation has increased globally, unlike before 2014.
While discussing purity in politics, Assembly Speaker Mahana
said that it used to be believed that only those who knew nothing would become
leaders, but that's no longer the case. Now, only those who know everything
will succeed in politics, as they have to satisfy millions of people. Uttar
Pradesh has 403 assembly seats and a large number of candidates. Therefore, a
good education is essential to enter politics. He urged young people to study
well if they want to enter politics.
During this event, several participants asked Assembly
Speaker Satish Mahana questions and events related to the functioning of the
House. Mahana answered these questions in detail and explained that running the
House requires restrained and dignified conduct. Members of both the ruling and
opposition parties should adhere to this principle, and the government should
also fully listen to the opposition. He explained that the Uttar Pradesh
Assembly has a large number of doctors, management, and law graduates, and they
maintain decorum in the House and raise issues related to the people of their
constituencies. They express their opinions on development plans and the
budget. On this occasion, participants toured the Assembly building and the
House and gained valuable information. CII Young Indians National Vice
President Anuj Agarwal, Kanpur Chapter Chair Sanchit Agarwal, Co-Chair Yash
Agarwal, CII Uttar Pradesh Director and State Head Alok Shukla, along with
other officials, were present.
