
Dhubri (Assam), 05 July (HS): Assam Police seized around 24,000 Yaba tablets worth an estimated ₹2.5 crore and arrested three alleged drug traffickers during a joint operation in Dhubri district, police informed today.
The operation was carried out by Shalkocha and Chapar Police based on specific intelligence at Mahishbathan in Tilapara along National Highway-17. The consignment was allegedly being transported from Imphal in Manipur to Dhubri when it was intercepted.
The arrested accused have been identified as Aminur Islam of Harkata, Jaynuddin Ali of Mashkaguri and Rabiul Islam of Suwapata. Police also seized several mobile phones, other incriminating materials and the Bolero vehicle used for transporting the contraband.
According to police, the seized Yaba tablets have an estimated market value of around ₹2.5 crore. Further investigation into the case is underway.---------
