
Guwahati, 05 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday announced financial assistance for students undergoing Japanese language training, stating that each trainee will receive a total of ₹1 lakh even before appearing for the final examination.
Interacting with trainees at the North East Skill Development Centre in Gorchuk, the Chief Minister said ₹30,000 will be provided after completion of the first three months of training, another ₹30,000 after six months, and the remaining ₹40,000 after nine months.
He further announced that trainees will receive an additional ₹50,000 after obtaining a Japanese visa. Sarma said the programme would create employment opportunities not only in Japan but also in Assam and across India, noting that more than 1,500 Japanese companies are already operating in the country and several are expected to set up operations in Assam over the next two to three years.-----------
